Our Story

It all started when…

a group of UCLA undergraduates found a need to make a greater difference in their community in terms of addressing the health inequity for underserved populations. With interests in public health, global health and medicine, they came together to build the foundation for ECHO. As of August 2018, we are an approved non-profit organization with the State of California. We are also an official 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization.

We hope to inspire future generations of students to learn more about the health resources in their community to start meaningful conversations about preventative medicine and prevalent health diseases. ECHO believes that having a voice is important and that together we can spread the message of protecting and promoting healthier lifestyles in mind and body across different walks of life! Being culturally-sensitive and mindful of those around us, we hope to make a positive impact in the lives of the underserved.
