Global Medical Mission

ECHO volunteers will have the opportunity to go on a summer medical mission trip abroad. Our 2019 summer site was Cusco, Peru. With these trips, we aim to provide support and learn more about access to healthcare in different underserved communities.

Volunteer in health campaigns

The week-long Medical Volunteer Campaign involves visiting and working with up to five different communities. Volunteers aid in treating and educating patients, providing basic checkups and treatment to members of the community. Volunteers also help to distribute vitamins and other medication, and deliver health education information appropriate to both children and adults.

Fundraise

In Peru, people with disabilities face discrimination and are often abandoned by their families. Many are unable to work and cannot afford proper healthcare. ECHO raises funds for The Association of People with Disabilities in Chinchero, Peru to support their medical needs.
